Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: May 12, 2026
Transparency matters. This page explains exactly how Fixyardly makes money and what that means for you as a reader.
The Short Version
Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy a product, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products we genuinely believe are worth your time and money. That’s the whole story.
The Longer Version
What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a special URL that tracks when a reader visits a retailer’s website from our Site. If that visit results in a purchase, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale as a referral fee.
You pay the same price whether you use our link or go directly to the retailer. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your wallet.
Affiliate programs we participate in
Amazon Associates Program — Fixyardly is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
As an Amazon Associate, Fixyardly earns from qualifying purchases.
We may also participate in affiliate programs with other retailers, including (but not limited to) Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart, ShareASale, Impact, CJ Affiliate, and AvantLink. Any time a link could result in a commission, it is treated as an affiliate link under this disclosure — whether or not each individual retailer is named.
How we choose what to recommend
Our recommendations are based on:
- Independent research — comparing specifications, reading manufacturer documentation, and reviewing professional sources.
- Hands-on testing — where feasible and within budget.
- Verified user feedback — analyzing patterns across hundreds (sometimes thousands) of verified purchase reviews.
- Real-world value — including price, durability, warranty, and customer support quality.
We do not choose products based on commission rates. A product that pays us 8% will never beat a better product that pays us 3% in our rankings. Period.
What we will never do
- ❌ Recommend a product we wouldn’t use ourselves just because it has a high commission.
- ❌ Accept payment in exchange for a positive review.
- ❌ Hide our affiliate relationships or pretend a sponsored post is independent editorial.
- ❌ Use deceptive cloaking to disguise affiliate links.
What we will always do
- ✅ Disclose affiliate relationships clearly on every page that contains affiliate links.
- ✅ Update or remove recommendations if a product’s quality drops, if it’s discontinued, or if a better alternative emerges.
- ✅ Tell you when we haven’t personally used a product (and explain how we evaluated it instead).
- ✅ Respect FTC guidelines and applicable consumer protection laws.
Display Advertising
In addition to affiliate links, Fixyardly displays advertisements through third-party ad networks, including Google AdSense. These ads are clearly distinguishable from editorial content. We do not control the specific ads shown — they are personalized by the ad networks based on your browsing data. To learn more or opt out, see our Privacy Policy.
FTC Compliance
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR § 255 (“Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising”).
